There will be much talk about who the number one running back should be in fantasy drafts next season and you’ll read debates, but really who are we kidding, it’s Chris Johnson without a iota of a doubt. Did you hear, apparently Johnson is faster than
Aaron Rodgers had the top fantasy season for a quarterback. Expect him to remain number one next season. By the way, we’ll be posting a complete review of 16 fantasy football guides soon and Sports Illustrated is the only one who predicted such a season for Rodgers, ranking him second behind Drew Brees at QB and 12th overall. However, they had Chris Johnson ranked 16th amongst runnings backs.
I think Tom Brady will give Rodgers a run for his money next year. People were disappointed with his season, but he was coming back from a major injury.
My top 10 quarterback rankings for next season; Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Peyton, Rivers, Romo, Schaub, Roethlisberger, Eli and Favre (or Ryan if Favre retires).

On a weekly basis through the 2009 FFL regular season, I’ll be offering tips and thoughts on “How to be a Better Fantasy Football Owner”. It’s now Week 14 in the NFL, and the FFL regular season is over which means two things. 1) Congratulations you’re in the playoffs, and 2) Sorry pal, I hope your NBA Fantasy team is doing well?
Psychological warfare is another way to be become a better FFL owner. Smack! It’s not required, but it’s a way for an FFL owner to throw down the gauntlet and unnerve his opponent into over thinking his team and pick the wrong boys for week 14 and so on.
I play in a FFL league that has been around the last 20 years. Owners have come and gone, but you get to know these guys pretty well. So when you smack, it’s important not to talk in a demeaning, derogatory or in a profane manner. Try to use good humor such as making fun of the opponent’s team name in a good natured way. FFL is supposed to be fun, and there’s no need to drag it into the gutter.

On a weekly basis through the 2009 fantasy football regular season, I’ll be offering tips and thoughts on “How to be a Better Fantasy Football Owner”. It’s now Week 13 in the NFL and the fantasy football regular season is almost over which means it’s coming down the wire for many teams in the playoff hunt.
Every fantasy owner should learn the saying “Know Thy NFL Division”, if I throw out a name New England Patriots, can you name the other three teams that belong in that Division? I bet only 20% of you gave the right answer including myself. The answer is Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.
But if you want to be a “Better Fantasy Football Owner” then you should know thy NFL Divisions. Why? Because like home field advantage the division games get the NFL players fired up and they’re willing to do anything, I repeat anything to take down their hated division rivals and dominate the division in order to get into the NFL playoffs at any cost.
Some rivalries are huge. Take for example Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers, they’re both in the same Division and the Vikings are coasting far ahead with a (10 – 1) standing and the Packers are in the wild card hunt with a standing of (7 – 4). QB Brett Favre knows he’s denying his beloved Packers and their fans the chance to get back into the Super Bowl. The Packers also know this and rub their hands every time the two teams get together. Every fantasy football owner should know this and instantly insert all Vikings and Packer players into the line up.

On a weekly basis through the 2009 FFL regular season, I’ll be offering tips and thoughts on “How to be a Better Fantasy Football Owner”. It’s now Week 12 in the NFL, and the playoffs are rapidly approaching.
Every FFL owner should learn the saying, “Depth and mo’ Depth”. Trust me, I had Ronnie Brown along with Brian Westbrook and guess what they both went down! I was leading my division comfortably and thank goodness had Kevin Smith, LeSean McCoy and Ray Rice as my other RBs.
Some of you may think, ah that’s nothing, just pick up a running back in the pool. Well, sometimes that works, sometimes not. In some leagues the pool could be dry as a bone and you’re suddenly caught up in doo-doo creek without a paddle.
For example, last week I picked up Washington Redskins RB Ladell Betts and dropped Brown since he’s out for the season. Guess what? The following week Betts went down and is also out for the season. Now I have to find another running back. Hot picks Justin Forsett... Read More » |

On a weekly basis through the 2009 FFL regular season, I’ll be offering tips and thoughts on “How to be a Better Fantasy Football Owner”. It’s now Week 11 in the NFL, and you’re in either three situations; One – Congratulations! You’re the current division leader and just about to clinch the bye for your division. Two – Smack dab right in the middle of the pack, slugging it out for a playoff spot. Three – Cellar dweller that has absolutely no or little hope of making the playoffs. Read More » |

As we cruise past week 9, it’s time reflect amongst yourselves and gauge where you rank in your leagues. We can basically lump ourselves into three simple categories. At this point in the season, you are either playoff bound, middling or likely out of the playoff picture. Here is how the three categories measure up. Read More » |

They’re big, they’re fat, they’re grotesque, and they’re what win championships. In today’s NFL the offensive line is the most essential part of the team, and having a poor one makes winning a football game very difficult. But what really matters, to us anyhow, is how things become more challenging for our fantasy players who are behind the weak front. Read More » |

Headed into week nine the Chicago Bears are sitting at a very mediocre four wins and three losses. How could this be? How is this possible? This was supposed to be the year of the Bear. They finally went out and solidified that all important quarterback position. Where did all the Super Bowl talk in Chicago go? When Jay Cutler was traded to Chicago, Bears fans were already picking out their seat for the victory parade. Was the Jay Cutler deal a mistake? Denver seems to be pretty happy with the quarterback the Bears were so willing to give up for the savior, Jesus Cutler. So was it? Was this franchise saving trade the Bears made a mistake?
